Sumit Sasidharan

Sumit Sasidharan is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Sumit is Managing Director, CMBS Portfolio Manager and Trader, responsible for managing and trading Barings’ portfolio of Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS), as well as overseeing and managing the CMBS platform. He has worked in the industry since 1997. Prior to joining Barings, Sumit served as Head of CRE at Angel Oak Capital Advisors, where he managed a CMBS portfolio across mutual funds, ETFs, SMAs, and hedge funds. He also previously served as Co-Head of Real Estate Capital Markets at Ares Management and held senior roles at Annaly Capital Management and CWCapital Investments. Sumit began his career at Fitch and holds a BA from the University of Chicago.
