Jorge Duarte
Head of Portfolio Management, European Real Estate Equity
Jorge Duarte is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Jorge is Head of Equity Portfolio Management Europe, overseeing portfolio management activities in Europe, including strategy development and the execution of investment solutions across commingled funds, joint ventures and separate accounts. Jorge chairs the European Equity Investment Committee. Jorge rejoined Barings in 2026 from Hines where he led the firm’s core plus platform and the Hines European Property Partners (HEPP) fund. During his previous tenure at Barings, Jorge served as Fund Manager for the European Real Estate team and as a member of the European Management Committee. Jorge has worked in the industry since 2002; his experience has encompassed multiple jurisdictions and core property sectors, and he has been directly involved in the acquisition, sale, financing and management of assets in 14 European markets. Jorge holds a B.A. (Hons) in economics from the University of the West of England, is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst and holds the Investment Management Certificate.
