Elvin Velez

Elvin Velez is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Elvin is an Assistant Real Estate Portfolio Manager and is responsible for supporting the management of several debt accounts for global institutional clients. Prior to his current position, Elvin was responsible for the origination of high yield commercial real estate investments including mezzanine, transitional first mortgages, B-Notes, and preferred equity investments across the Central Region of the United States. Previous to that, he was an analyst supporting core mortgage originations in the same region. Elvin joined the firm in 2005. Elvin holds a B.A. from The University of Northern Iowa with a double major in Finance and Real Estate and an M.B.A. from Roosevelt University with a concentration in Real Estate.
