Chris Berry is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Chris is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager for the Real Estate team, responsible for the development and execution of portfolio strategy, reporting, valuations and client relations for a core real estate equity fund. He also serves on the Barings Real Estate U.S. Private Equity Investment Committee. Prior to his current role, Chris originated and closed direct and joint venture real estate equity investment opportunities in the western region of the United States. Chris has worked in the industry since 2001. Prior to joining the firm in 2014, Chris was an Assistant Vice President for GIC Real Estate where he underwrote and closed equity and debt investments throughout the U.S. and Canada and an acquisitions officer for AIG Global Real Estate focusing on direct and joint venture multifamily investment opportunities on the west coast. He was also a Project Manager for Turner Construction and has several years of architecture experience, including a position at Foster and Partners in London. Chris holds a B.S. degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Department of Architecture and an M.B.A. from Columbia University's Graduate School of Business.
