Zawerthal Duarte, who previously spent nearly seven years at Barings, will lead Barings’ European Real Estate Equity Portfolio Management group, overseeing strategy development and the execution of investment solutions across commingled funds, joint ventures and separate accounts.

He will serve on the European Real Estate Equity Investment and Valuation Committees and will work closely with Executive Management, Client Portfolio Management, Distribution, Research & Strategy and the heads of Equity Transactions and Asset Management.

Jorge rejoins Barings from Hines where, as Senior Managing Director, he led the firm’s Core Plus platform and the Hines European Property Partners (HEPP) fund.

During his previous tenure at Barings, Jorge served as Fund Manager for the European Real Estate team and as a member of the European Management Committee.
