Lydia Wu is the Head of Institutional Distribution for Greater China and Southeast Asia, responsible for leading institutional business development and managing senior client relationship in the region. Lydia brings more than 15 years of comprehensive experiences in the asset management industry with strong expertise and knowledge in both traditional and alternative strategies. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, she worked for Oaktree Capital as a Senior Vice President responsible for institutional and intermediary business development activities in Greater China. Before that, she was a Director at BNY Mellon, focused on growing BNY Mellon and its boutiques’ institutional businesses and strengthened senior relationships with investors in APAC. Before her role at BNY Mellon, Lydia was a Vice President at SSGA where she was responsible for promoting active, enhanced and passive strategies along with customized solutions to different types of investors in Greater China. As the senior representative, she also worked closely with local insurance regulators to design frameworks and provide suggestions for their overseas investment. Lydia began her career at MSIM with various roles where she was responsible for serving both institutional and intermediary investors from China and Taiwan. She focused on the China growth strategy and promoted a full range of strategies including equity, fixed income, multi asset, private equity and real estate. Lydia received a Master of Arts degree in Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Economic Law from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. She holds China Legal Professional Qualification and is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
