Hyun is Deputy Head of Investment at Barings Korea, where he is responsible for leading the firm’s Korean equity platform, including portfolio management, research, and overall investment process. He also oversees the dealing function, further enhancing alignment across investment and execution. 

Prior to joining Barings in 2013, Hyun was Head of Equity Management and Fund Manager at Prudential Asset Management (now Hanwha Asset Management) in 2007 and has been an Equity Manager at Hangaram Investment Advisory since 2002. He began his investment career in 1995, joining the investment team at Heungkuk Fire & Marine Insurance. 

He graduated from Seoul National University and holds a bachelor's degree in economics. In 2025, he completed an EMBA program at Yonsei University and holds a Master's degree in Business Administration.
