Barings Coronavirus Statement
May 26, 2020
Barings has taken proactive steps around COVID-19 to address the potential impacts on our people, clients, communities and everyone we come in contact with, directly or through our premises.
Having performed stress-testing on our systems and processes, Barings is operating a 100% remote working model across the U.S, Europe and Australia. We shifted to remote working and flexible working arrangements in Asia at the end of January, while maintaining service levels to partners and clients. Barings’ Cyber Security policies are applied consistently when working remotely or in the office.
Our coronavirus Crisis Management Team consisting of the Executive Leadership Team and other leaders across Barings ensures that we anticipate and prepare for all scenarios, including an eventual seamless return to our offices. We continue to evaluate the situation based on World Health Organization (WHO), Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local government updates and will take further measures as warranted.
We have been in continuous communication with our employees and have been maintaining client communications throughout this period as we continue to monitor the situation closely. Barings has pledged relief benefitting 13 organizations globally that provide aid to frontline healthcare workers or work to bridge the gap for students who are unable to obtain provided meals due to school closures. Protecting our employees and supporting the communities in which we live and work is our priority.
