James Barton

James Barton serves as a Director, Fund Controller of Barings Real Estate Australia. He has over 15 years of experience in finance and accounting in listed real estate, energy and mining companies. His responsibilities include accounting, finance, tax, risk management and compliance. James began his career at KPMG in the audit and assurance division. Before joining Barings, James was Group Finance Manager at Dexus and most recently Director of FP&A at Elanor Investors Group. James holds a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in accounting and finance from Wollongong University and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.
