José Carlos Torres

José Carlos Torres is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. José Carlos is a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate for the Iberia region, overseeing the sourcing and acquisition of equity products in Spain and Portugal. In addition, he serves on the European Investment Committee. José Carlos has worked in the industry since 2004. Prior to joining the firm in 2021, José Carlos was Head of Investments at Hines covering Spain. Prior to that, he worked with various companies, including serving as a Director of Acquisitions for Dutch manager Redevco. He also worked for Zaphir Asset Management, a local investment and asset manager currently Savills IM in Spain. José Carlos holds a degree in Business Administration from the Carlos III University in Madrid and is professor of asset management and business valuation at several masters and real estate programs at the Instituto de Empresa Business School in Madrid.
