Manabu Tamaru, CFA

Tamaru-san is a member of the Yen-based Portfolio Construction Group and is responsible for global fixed income portfolio management on behalf of Japanese clients. He joined Barings in 2008 from Asahi Life Asset Management in Tokyo, where he was Head of Fixed Income Management. Tamaru-san spent 19 years at Asahi Mutual Life Insurance in a variety of roles including Japan-domestic and ex-Japan fixed income portfolio management for general and pension accounts and loan securitization. Tamaru-san graduated with a BA in Agricultural Economics from the University of Tokyo and was awarded the CFA designation in 1999.
