Geoff Smith is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Geoff is Head of Real Estate Equity Asset Management, Western US, responsible for managing and supporting the Real Estate Equity Asset Management team in managing a portfolio of assets that include office, life science, industrial, retail, multi-family and self storage product located primarily in the Midwest, Southern and Western areas of the United States. In this capacity, he manages acquisitions, operations, budget and business plan creation, monthly and quarterly reporting, and dispositions activities for his portfolio. Geoff has worked in the industry since 2007. Prior to joining the firm in 2012, Geoff was an analyst with May Center Advisors, an investment sales firm specializing in retail real estate, and was responsible for all property level financial modeling and analysis as well as the authoring and production of offering materials. Prior to this, Geoff worked as a Real Estate Manager with DeNovo Properties and Property Acquisition Specialist with Premier Properties USA. Geoff holds a B.S. in general management with a finance concentration from the Krannert School of Management at Purdue University and a M.S. in real estate from the DePaul Driehaus College of Business.
