Head of Real Estate Acquisitions – Western Region
Chris Black is a member of Barings Real Estate, a global real estate platform with extensive capabilities across both debt and equity strategies. Chris is a Managing Director and Head of Real Estate Acquisitions – Western Region, responsible for supervising all activities in connection with a diversified regional portfolio of commercial properties including acquisitions, asset management and dispositions. In addition, he serves on the U.S. Equity Investment Committee. Prior to his current role, Chris was Head of the Real Estate Equity Acquisitions Group in the Western Region of the U.S. He has worked in the industry since 1992. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Chris spent five years as a Vice President at Summit Commercial responsible for real estate development, acquisitions and dispositions. Prior to joining Summit Commercial, he spent four years at Copley Real Estate Advisors/AEW Capital Management, where he was responsible for real estate acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions. Chris began his career at Price Waterhouse (PwC) as a real estate consultant. Chris holds a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Real Estate Finance and Development from the University of Southern California.
