Michael Gately

Michael Gately is a member of Barings Alternative Investments, a global real estate, private equity and real assets platform. Michael is Head of Real Estate Research and is responsible for directing the group’s research team and overseeing macro- and micro-economic research, market analysis, forecasting and development of the global research platform across North America, Europe and Asia. Michael holds a voting seat on the real estate Investment Committees. Michael has worked in the industry since 1984. Prior to joining the firm in 1994, he managed real estate interests for a privately held manufacturing and retailing concern, served as Executive Director of the University of Hartford Construction Institute and was a consulting economist. Michael holds an A.B. degree in Economics from St. Michael’s College and an M.A. degree in Economics from the University of Hartford. He is a frequent speaker on real estate market trends and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers, and the National Association for Business Economics.
