Head of Financial Services, Private Equity/Real Assets
Bill Wallis is a member of Barings’ Private Equity/Real Assets Investment Committee and leads the team’s investment strategy in financial services. Bill joined the firm in 2015 and has worked in the industry since 1997, bringing over 25 years of experience. At the firm, Bill has led the growth of the team’s investment capabilities in financial services and the expansion of the team’s strategy in the life settlements space. He also serves as Chairman of the Valuation Committee. Prior to joining the firm, Bill spent the majority of his career at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in their strategic private equity group, where he was a member of the investment committee and sat on numerous portfolio company boards. Bill started his career as an investment-banking analyst for Bank of America in their leveraged finance group. Bill holds a B.S. from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia as well as an M.B.A. from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
